Prepared to Be Royally Jealous of Queen Elizabeths Christmas Decorations

Whether you deck the halls on the first of November or make a mad dash to grab some tinsel on Dec. 23, decorating your house for Christmas is an exciting annual ritual. At Buckingham Palace, it’s no different, and this week the decorations went up at Queen Elizabeth's’s London home. Thanks to a video shared by the Palace on Twitter, we got a sneak peek at how the Palace looks in all its festive glory.

"Christmas has arrived at Buckingham Palace!" the tweet read. "Did you know that the Christmas Tree was introduced to Britain in the 18th Century by Queen Charlotte, consort of King George III?" the message continued.

In the video, we get a look at the Queen’s collection of Christmas trees including a 15-foot Nordmann Fir Tree from Windsor Great Park in the Marble Hall, and two smaller 10-foot Nordmann Fir’s in the Grand Entrance. Tastefully decorated with strings of sparkling white lights, decorations include some regal baubles shaped like crowns. The festive fun doesn’t end there, the Queen’s Grand Staircase has also been draped with colorful garlands.

Buckingham Palace was not the only royal residence to have a Christmas makeover this week. At Clarence House, the home of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the decorations have also gone up. This year Helen & Douglas House hospice and the Roald Dahl Charity were chosen to decorate the tree.

Thank you to all the children from @HelenAndDouglas and @RoaldDahlFund who helped The Duchess decorate Clarence House's Christmas tree today. It looks amazing! pic.twitter.com/2RHyt7xfjq
